Did you know that Jesus had a purpose when God sent Him to earth? 1 John 3:8 says, “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” The Word of God, Jesus, came to earth to set us free from sin and sickness and to destroy the works of the devil. Sickness, pain, poverty, depression, anxiety, fear, worry, are all works of the devil.

Whatever you are going through or dealing with, there is an answer, and His name is Jesus!  Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent His Word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.” God sent Jesus, His Word, to free you from whatever the enemy has tried to keep you in bondage with. Every answer can be found in the scriptures. The antidote for sickness, poverty, depression, anxiety, fear, worry, etc. is in the Word of God.

Everyone and everything have a purpose. A car has many purposes, the primary purpose being to transport people from one place to another. A secondary purpose is a source of entertainment such as auto racing or a car show. Sickness has a purpose to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus had a purpose to destroy the works of the devil. When you know the purpose of something, you can take advantage of its full potential. If you don’t know that a thermostat’s purpose is to provide heat in the winter, you will freeze inside your own house when the temperature drops in the winter.

Jesus came to heal you and His purpose hasn’t changed. It is still His purpose and desire to heal and deliver you from destruction. That doesn’t mean there isn’t an enemy that walks around trying to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). 1 John 5:19 says, “We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.”  In this world, there are symptoms of wickedness such as corruption, loss, poverty, failure, trauma, sickness, and death. These are the works of the devil and we can either cooperate with them or stand against them. If you are ignorant to the devil’s ways, have sin in your life, or even passively accept these symptoms, you are cooperating with the enemy—you are allowing your life and purpose to be stolen from you. For example, if you are living with a chronic illness, your life and purpose are being stolen.

The corruption in this world is not God’s purpose or His will for your life. Most of Jesus’ ministry was healing the sick. You were created to live in perfection not in this fallen world. Colossians 1:13 says, “He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love.”  Jesus has already delivered you from sickness, poverty, depression, etc.; you do not belong to the power of darkness because Jesus has set you free. As a believer, the Kingdom of God lives within you and you have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). See yourself healed before your body reflects the changes and see yourself fulfilling God’s purpose for your life.

Jesus’ purpose was to destroy the works of the devil. Acts 10:38 says, “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.” God was with Jesus and He is now with us.

When you know the true nature and purpose of Jesus, you will no longer accept the symptoms and things that are stealing from your life. Don’t settle for anything less than God’s best. Don’t accommodate sickness. Don’t adjust to sickness and put up with it. Decide to fight and not quit by getting into God’s Word for the antidote to whatever you may be experiencing.

You are an overcomer, a victor, a champion, a conqueror, and worthy to be healed!
