Valentine’s Day is a celebration about and for the heart and is a great opportunity to ensure that you have the right attitude and expectations. If you were to examine your heart which many times in the Bible is described as our spirit and soul, would you find it to be negative or positive?
Are you “the sick” trying to get well, or are you “the healed” resisting sickness? How you see yourself makes a difference as it relates to your health and healing. If you have a negative approach to life, this attitude gets on the inside of who you are and will impact your health and healing.
You might know the healing scriptures and can even quote them; however, you can not be in faith if your expectation is negative. Your attitude toward life and your situation impacts your heart (spirit and soul) which dramatically affects your health and belief for healing. Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” Do you carry an overcomer attitude or a victim mentality? Why did this happen to me? Am I being punished for something? Why do bad things always happen to me?
What you carry in your heart determines if you are “the sick” and trying to get well or “the healed” resisting sickness! Romans 12:2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Once you are born again, renewing of your mind is a complete makeover of your heart through the Word of God. You are given a new heart (spirit) and as you read the Word, your soul (mind, thoughts, will, emotions) begins to align with God’s truths and promises.
If you are struggling with a sickness, disease, or disability, are you aligned with what the doctors have said, the symptoms that are screaming at you, or are you believing what God has said about your situation? How truthfully you answer these questions enables you to determine what your heart is saying and believing! Do you see yourself as the warrior who has conquered the situation or a victim trying to get better?
James 1:6-8 says, “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” You can’t be double-minded about healing and waiver in your heart. If your mind is occupied with fear, anxiety, test results, and symptoms, this will shape the image you have inside of you and draw your heart away from God’s Word. What you allow in your heart will eventually show up in your life. Romans 10:10 says, “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Let the Word of God change your life and nourish you. Feed on the Word of God and what Jesus has already done at the cross. All the healing you need is available in your reborn spirit and you can release healing by speaking God’s Word, renewing your thoughts and acting on what God says. “By His stripes you are healed (Isaiah 53:5).” “As Jesus is so are you in this world (1 John 4:17).” “The Lord healed all your diseases and redeemed your life from destruction (Psalm 107:20).” “You were healed at the cross and walk in total wholeness (1 Peter 2:24).”
Know the Word, Think the Word, Speak the Word, Act the Word and See your healing!
