As a Christian, did you ever wonder what you have on the inside of you? As a believer, you have been given the same measure of faith as Jesus. Romans 12:3b says, “but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
First, it’s important to see that this scripture says that God “hath dealt” or has already given to everyone the same measure of faith. God did not create different measures of faith and then hand them out based on a point system or based on someone’s calling. He didn’t create small, medium, or large faith, He gave an equal amount of faith at salvation. This measure of faith is the same faith that Jesus possessed (2 Peter 1:1).
The problem isn’t that believers don’t have enough faith, rather they don’t know the truth or how to release their faith because of a lack of knowledge. God says in Hosea 4:6 that His people perish (destroyed) for a lack of knowledge.
The Bible describes faith in Hebrews 11:1 as, “Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” The Greek word for faith is pistis which means, to win over, persuade, confidence, assurance, conviction. Faith brings into the physical realm what is truth in the spirit or the unseen realm. By releasing your faith, you bring what is true in the spirit realm into existence. Faith is the assurance, conviction of having what you can’t detect with your physical senses. To determine if you are in faith for something you have been believing for, ask yourself, “Am I fully persuaded in my heart?” That full persuasion is proof that it is already yours.
Faith is a noun and if you remember from grammar school, a noun is a person, place, or thing. Faith is a thing and needs to be released from inside of you. You might be thinking, how do you do that? By believing! Believing is a verb which is an action. Faith is released when you believe. You can release your faith by speaking God’s Words and/or by acting on what God said. There are great examples where Jesus spoke and the person expecting healing acted on what Jesus said.
- “Stretch out your hand. And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other” (Matthew 12:9-13)
- “And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed” (Luke 17:11-14)
- “So, he went and washed, and came back seeing” (John 9:7)
If you are struggling with sickness, be sure that you are fully persuaded in your heart and are not saying you are healed with head knowledge. People struggle with receiving healing because they are trying to believe but are not exercising their faith in Jesus as their Healer. The people healed in the Bible came to Jesus for healing. They knew who He was and knew that He healed. They were fully persuaded in Jesus and His Word; therefore, those that came to Him and acted on His Words experienced healing.
If you are having trouble exercising or releasing your faith, it is a relationship problem. There is a lack of knowing and trusting in the person of Jesus Christ. Know that Jesus is your Healer and that He died on the cross, so that you can be set free from the bondage of sickness.
Search the scriptures and get to know Jesus, the one who heals, and then release your faith.
Let it out!
